Fran Healy has revealed that Travis almost split due to the pressures of their huge success in the late nineties and early noughites.
However, he says the band were saved after drummer Neil Primrose suffered serious injuries in a road traffic accident in 2002.
Healy told ITV.com: "When you start getting successful the business starts to seep in to any sort of cracks, and then they expand and push everyone apart.
"You then start to see each other as workmates and not friends. It is bizarre but when Neil had his accident and broke his neck we were like - 'oh no, it's Neil!' - not 'oh God, our drummer!'. I think we suddenly became friends again."
The Scots have just come off the back of a successful return to live duties at the Camden Crawl and three intimate dates in March.
They release their new album ‘The Boy With No Name’ on May 7 and tour the UK from May 15.
