Sound City has announced its much-awaited return with details of its 2021 edition. After two postponements: from spring to autumn, and from autumn to next year, the news is greatly welcomed by all at Gigwise.

The citywide Liverpool new music festival will host Rejjie Snow, Red Rum Club, Jamie Webster and The Lathums as headliners next May. The Snuts, The Murder Capital, The Mysterines and Mercury-nominated Lanterns on the Lake will all also appear.

The news was announced this morning alongside some delightful new branding.

"2020 may have passed us  by, so looks like we have to pack twice the amount of fun into 2021!" Festival Managing Director Rebecca Ayres said.

Sound City Plus, the conference arm of the festival, will also return next May. Again, Keychange are an important part of Sound City, and next year's line-up will be a 50/50 line-up of men and women/minority genders.

Tickets go on sale at 10am Wednesday 23 September here. Earlybird tickets will be at earlybird prices for 48 hours.
