Birmingham's Mostly Jazz, Funk and Soul Festival has today asked for the help of the public to save them from permanent closure by opening a Crowd Funder. An online event - Almost Jazz, Funk and Soul - will play in return, featuring performances from Brian Jackson and The Allergies.

Virtual gates will open at 11am tomorrow for the event, which will also feature live shows from Norman J, Crazy P's Danielle Moore and Hannah Williams. There will be DJ's and Q&A's with the festival team, as well as re-runs of some of the best from over a decade of Mostly Jazz. Those include streams featuring Burt Bacharach, Soul II Soul and Chic!

To stay afloat, Mostly Jazz, Funk and Soul need your help. The online event is free, but any and all pledges to their new Crowdfunder are greatly appreciated: the effects of a festival-free summer have been detrimental to this well-loved event, plunging them into a difficult financial situation.

To pledge support, you can head here.
