Hole frontwoman has asked former Hole bandmate Eric Erlandson to not reveal details of their relationship in his book about Kurt Cobain's suicide.
The US star is said to have given the book her approval, on the condition that the pair's brief relationship is kept from the pages.
"I wish him well. Even more than Dave [Grohl] and [Krist] Novoselic, Eric was family," said Love in an interview with New York Daily News. "I just hope he didn't write that we dated. We had sex, yes, but I don't date."
Erlandson's book will be published on April 8, 2012 and promises "reflections on rock'n'roll, drug abuse and the loss of Cobain".
