Iggy Pop is set to use his performance with the Stooges at this weekend's Isle Of Wight festival to highlight Canada's annual seal slaughter.
The singer has teamed up with animal rights group PETA for a new advert, which will be shown before the group take to the stage in Newport.
PETA said it is designed to combat the Canadian government's attempts to market baby seal fur internationally in order to prop up the dying seal fur trade,
"Clubbing baby seals is sick," Pop says in the advert. "Don't let the greed of a few tarnish the image of the whole country."
Iggy Pop and The Stooges are just one of the performers at this weekend's Isle Of Wight festival.
