Oasis are taking legal advice over news articles which claimed singer Liam Gallagher had stormed off stage during a recent London gig.
Various media outlets suggested Gallagher had “stormed out of” the band's show at the Roundhouse on Tuesday.
It was reported that the singer had been angered by a fan who threw beer towards the stage.
But a spokesperson said the stories were “totally untrue”, while a statement on Oasis' website said the Manchester group were consulting city law firm Carter Ruck.
“Liam put on one of the performances of his life last night, leaving the stage only for a few minutes during songs sung by his brother Noel as is always the case,” the spokesperson said.
An upcoming ITV highlights show is expected to cast a light on what actually happened at the gig, the spokesperson added.
“It is very difficult to understand why supposedly respectable publications would publish such malicious and damaging claims."
Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher joked yesterday that his brother had been on his “man period” on the day of the gig.
