The singer announces UK show and compare himself to Picasso

Usher has announced his plans for a one-off London concert in the UK in June.

The singer has announced that he will headline a show at the Hammersmith Apollo in London on June 11. The one-off concert will be in celebration of his new album ‘Looking 4 Myself’, which will be released the same day.

The ‘Scream’ singer has spoken about the new album, saying, "As a young artist, you live vicariously through others until you have your own experiences."

"Younger artists might have to go through just doing one thing, like how Picasso had his blue period. But as you grow older, you become able to articulate yourself better and know what works for you."

"So this album is not a monochromatic thing - certain songs were specifically intended to get certain things out, different tones and emotions. And as an artist, that brought out the best in me."

Usher has worked with a range of producers and other artists to help him create his seventh album, with help from Swedish House Mafia, Diplo, Max martin, Will.i.am and Empire of the Sun on the record.

Tickets for the concert go on sale June 1 at 9am.

Former Supergrass frontman to play two intimate shows later this month

Former Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes has announced two upcoming UK dates in mid May. Tickets are on sale now.

The solo star, who recently premiered his debut video 'Hot Fruit' will play intimate gigs in Manchester and London ahead of the release of his upcoming album, 'Here Come The Bombs'.

Fans of his former indie band shouldn't expect to hear too many hits in his set however, as Gaz recently told Gigwise that he found it 'strange' to see aging rockers trying to recapture their youth by performing their early tracks.

"It was the perfect time for us to be doing what we were doing," Gaz told Gigwise. "The energy of what we were doing suited being younger. There's a part of me that doesn't want to see us performing 'Alright' in our forties. It's not something i'm really into.

He added: "There's nothing worse than seeing some old geezers trying to be young again by playing their early hits. I find it all a bit strange."

Gaz Coombes live dates are below. For more information visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.

Tickets for Rufus Wainwright's winter tour are on sale now.

The US singer/songwriter will be performing tracks from his new album, 'Out Of The Game' on the tour, which recorded with Mark Ronson and recently revealed was inspired by Lady Gaga.

"I think a lot of it has to do with Lady Gaga, to be honest. I totally admire her tenacity, her ambition and her strength of vision. There’s just not one good song there. People, especially gay men, are falling so hard for it," said the star in an interview with Music Week. "Certain things that she says: 'Look at me. I was like you one day and now I’m this – and you can do it too.' I find it a bit disingenuous.

Wainwight also recently premiered the video for his single, also titled 'Out Of The Game', which stars Helena Bonham-Carter as a frustrated librarian.
