'Watch The Throne' rapper Jay-Z has spoken out against anti-gay discrimination, comparing homophobia in the US to discrimination against black people.
In an interview with news channel CNN, the star has spoken openly about his support for Barack Obama's recent support of gay marriage and says supporting these issues is the right thing to do.
"I've always thought it as something that is holding the country back. What people do in their own homes is their own business, who they choose to love is their own business," says Jay-Z in the interview. "It's no different between discriminating against blacks. It's discrimination."
When questioned on whether Obama's recent announcement would cause his popularity to suffer, he added: "I think it is the right thing to do, so whether it costs him votes or not, it's about people. It's the right thing to do as a human being."
