Lady Gaga criticised for 'pop stars don't eat' tweet

Lady Gaga has been criticised by some fans after she claimed to not be eating in order to lose weight.

The 'Bad Romance' star is about to embark on a huge world tour, including UK dates which go on sale tomorrow, and let her Twitter followers in on the knowledge that she is denying herself certain foods in a bid to get fit for the physically gruelling live shows.

"Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad dreaming of a cheeseburger #PopSingersDontEat #IWasBornThisWay" Gaga tweeted.

The seemingly innocent Tweet was seized on by Gaga's Little Monsters however, who slammed her for promoting an unhealthy message to her fans.

One fan message reads: "Why would you even promote a message like that? Disgusting that you'd joke about such a serious illness.."

Gaga has spoken about her strenuous tour preperations on Twitter before, saying: "Hot yoga time, post rehearsal," she told fans on Twitter. "Though my ass is kicked from dancing I may succumb to the heat and focus on conditioning. No pain, no fear."
