Apple have been accused of exploiting Whitney Houston's death by increasing the cost of her in-demand albums on iTunes.

The singer's  publicist made the announcement of her passing in the early hours of Sunday (February 12).

It is still unclear how Houston died but Police have confirmed the star was found on the fourth floor of the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.

Houston's 'Ultimate Collection' album, released in 2007, has increased from $4.70 to $12.60, reports Digital Spy.

Fans have complained, with one customer saying: 'To say I am angry is an understatement and I feel it is just a case of iTunes cashing in on the singer's death, which in my opinion is totally parasitic.

The album itself is great so please don't be put off purchasing it, just [know] that you will merely be lining some fatcat's pocket before Whitney's lifeless body is cold.'

Meanwhile, Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown was rushed to hospital after hearing news that her mother had passed.

According to The Sun, Bobbi Kristina Brown, 18, was wheeled out of the Beverly Hilton on a stretcher just hours after her mum died at the hotel.
