Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell are set to meet for the first time since the Girls Aloud star was sacked as a judge on The X Factor USA.
Cole was let go from her role on the programme just days after the first auditions began and replaced by Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger.
The pair have not been on speaking terms since the saga, but have now apparently begun talks to speak face-to-face.
A source told The Sun: "It had been pretty frosty for a while but Cheryl has mellowed and they've turned a corner.
"Simon has always wanted to remain friends with her but it's understandable how she needed time to calm down.
“Now they're on talking terms and banter is in full swing, they're discussing a meet, which is likely to be in LA."
Cole is currently recording her third studio album, which is expected in the new year.
