Drake and Chromeo are among the artists who have paid tribute to DJ Mehdi, who has died at the age of 34.
The French producer's death was confirmed today (September 13), although it is still not clear how he died.
DJ Mehdi, real name Mehdi Favéris-Essadi, worked with the likes of Chromeo, Daft Punk and Cassius.
In a message on Twitter, Drake wrote: “Damn...RIP MEHDI.”
Chromeo, the production duo who worked with DJ Mehdi on the song 'I Am Somebody', said: “We lost our brother. No words.”
“I'm speechless for the loss of DJ Mehdi,” said Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac. “Sending all my love to his beautiful family and to Pedro Winter and Ed banger Records in Paris. X
Example also tweeted his condolences: “RIP Mehdi. What a lovely fella he was.”
DJ Mehdi's record label Ed Banger have yet to comment.
