Babyshambles drummer Adam Ficek has rubbished reports that Pete Doherty was booed and pelted with bagels at their show in Moscow on Sunday.
News stories in the Daily Star and Daily Mail claim that Doherty and co. turned up late for the B1 Maximum Club show and were met with a hostile reception from a crowd who had “paid up to £1,000 for a ticket.”
The reports claim that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was one of the VIPs in the crowd, while two bagels were hurled towards Doherty - one of which he allegedly picked up and ate.
Speaking to Gigwise today, Adam Ficek insisted the stories were hogwash.
He told us: “I'm not sure which Moscow Babyshambles show the press are reporting? The one I played with the band was superb, we took to the stage on time and performed for two hours, there were loads of gifts thrown on stage, yes, one of which could have been a bread based product!
“But from where I was sitting, which is probably the best seat in the house, there were no hostilities at all, everyone loved it, as did we.”
