Lady GaGa has revealed her co-headlining tour with Kanye West was cancelled because it “wasn't the right time”.
The US jaunt, entitled Fame Kills, had been due to start in November but was axed earlier this month without explanation.
It is thought the fallout from West's controversial outburst at the MTV Video Music Awards in September was behind the decision.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Lady GaGa refused to go into detail about the cancellation, but admitted the pair “had our own reasons”.
“I don't want to embellish on it too much, because I want to respect Kanye's privacy,” she said.
The singer added: “We're real friends, real friends can make decisions like that, and we wanted to keep the momentum going in terms of pop music staying innovative with hip-hop and R&B, and we really wanted to do it, and it just wasn't the right time.
“But who's to say what will happen in the future?”
As previously reported on Gigwise, Lady GaGa will now embark on her own Monster Ball tour next month.
The 24-date North American jaunt includes shows in Los Angeles, Orlando and St Louis.
It will coincide with the re-release of the singer's debut album - renamed 'The Fame: Monster' - with an additional eight new songs.
