Liam Gallagher has confirmed that Oasis are “no longer” following his brother and guitarist Noel Gallagher's departure.
Noel quit the Manchester band in August, saying he “could not go on working with Liam a day longer”.
There had been reports that the singer would continue the band by recruiting a new guitarist to take his brother's place.
However, in an interview with The Times newspaper, Liam said: “Well, Oasis is no longer. I think we all know that. So that’s done.”
When asked if he genuinely felt that way, the singer replied: “Oh, I know. Without a doubt. And it’s a shame but that’s life.
“We had a good run at it. The thing about Oasis is, no one ... we ended Oasis. No one ended it for us. Which was pretty, kind of ... cool (the word “cool” is enunciated with venom).”
Liam, who is currently promoting his new clothing label Pretty Green, also revealed that he was considering his future in music.
“I’m thinking of what the next step is musically, which is all my mind’s on,” he said.
Before their split, the Gallagher brothers had endured a notoriously fractious relationship since Oasis formed in 1991.
