It seems that all those stories of a Led Zeppelin reunion tour in 2008 may not be rumours after all.
Bosses at Cardiff’s Millennium stadium have admitted that they are in talks with the band’s management about performing at the venue next year.
The news was revealed by the WRU’s head man Roger Lewis who is personal friends with Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones.
He told the South Wales Echo: “We would love to welcome Led Zeppelin and we have already put in a request to Harvey Goldsmith (the band’s promoter).
“We have a good relationship with Harvey, who also handles Bruce Springsteen who is coming to the stadium.
“Initially, Harvey said they were only going to do a one-off gig but now they are considering a tour.
“The thing is, we are the only stadium in Britain with a retractable roof and we can guarantee a perfect event for 70,000 people.
“There’s nowhere else in the country that can do that.”
