The winner of this year's X Factor is the bookies favourite to take this year's Christmas number one spot.
The overall victor has yet to be decided, but bookies William Hill said they have already received a substantial number of bets for The X Factor winner to reach the coveted position.
“The rush of bets on X-Factor to be Christmas Number One has seemingly coincided with Matt Cardle becoming odds on favourite to win the show,” spokesman Joe Crilly said.
“There is no doubting that he would prove a very popular winner and would seem to be the most likely contestant to push for the festive top slot.”
Cardle is currently the 8/11 favourite to win the show.
Other contenders for this year's festive top spot include Coldplay, The Killers and Slipknot's Corey Taylor, who has released a track called 'X-M@S'.
Last year, the X Factor winner was denied the top spot by Rage Against The Machine, who were propelled to number one by a Facebook campaign.
