Elton John: 'Lady Gaga Is My Bastard Daughter'

Elton John has claimed that Lady Gaga is like his "bastard daughter".

The singer, who has performed with the US star on several occasions, also says she is inspired by his own music.

''She is kind of like the bastard daughter of Elton John. If I had a daughter it would be Gaga, no doubt. She has the same penchant for high shoes; she’s great,'' sir Elton said in an interview on Live with Regis and Kelly.

He added: ''She is influenced by so many people - you can see it... she is like all of us. When I first started out I was influenced by people and then you gradually form a character of your own.''

The pair have recorded the duet 'Hello, Hello' which will appear in the film Gnomeo and Juliet.

Meanwhile, Gaga is currently on her Monster Ball world tour and will return to London next month to play the O2 Arena.
