More about: Chloe
As unassuming as the name is, Chloe is a name to know. After tracking up over a million streams on her track ‘Stay Home’, she’s back with long-time collaborator Shute for ‘Stacey’.
Merging Mazzy Star inspired lo-fi elements with darker turns, the Edinburgh born singer usually strays in lighter lanes. Typically moving around the arena of dream pop, ‘Stacey’ signals a shift. Leaning into her darker side, it’s quite literally a conversation with the bad bits…
Talking about the track, Chloe said: “Stacey is the name I gave the voice in the back of my head that focuses on the negative. I wrote it at a time when I was feeling particularly anxious, and that voice seemed to dominate a lot of my thoughts. The song is about the struggle to understand and show compassion towards the voice without letting it become you. Writing it really helped me come out of a bad place, so I really hope it resonates with other people too.”
Quickly racking up supporters and radio plays, she’s one to add to your lo-fi, moody playlists.
‘Stacey’ is out now.
