More about: GENN
Breaking down where GENN have come from isn’t easy. First started in Malta, with Anglo-Maltese, Jamaican and Portuguese roots - they’re now firmly based in Brighton and ready to take over. Returning for the first time in 2022, ‘Rohmeresse’ develops their anthemic sound into something stadium worthy.
Full of dark, spooky guitar sounds it’s an instant add to your halloween party playlist. Nodding to french new wave cinema or creepy german expressionist films, it takes the mundane and highlights the uncanny in it all. Chanting “i wanna stay in all day”, it somehow feels like a ritual now.
As a band with a long history, you can really sense the fun and the comfort to bring any idea to the table. Resulting in a sound that’s defiant, strong and still a little silly, it’s a testament to the magic made between friends.
Also announcing some huge tour news, GENN will be joining the iconic and historic Pussy Riot on their UK tour from the end of the month. HUGE!
‘Rohmeresse’ is out now.
Issue Four of the Gigwise Print magazine is on pre-order now! Order here.
