Glastonbury Festival have announced a scheme that will urge festivalgoers attending this year’s festival to become more aware of their carbon footprint.

Not only will this years attendees be provided with a complimentary roll of eco-friendly toilet paper, as previously reported, but the festival will also provide carbon neutral showers and organic food on site.

People will also be invited to join the ‘I Count’ campaign upon arrival, where they will be given a wristband with the slogan, “We Can Stop Climate Chaos.”

The ‘I Count’ campaign is part of the Stop Climate Chaos coalition which is seeking to make governments aware of the damage that climate change is causing. The coalition already includes over 50 global organisations, such as Greenpeace and Oxfam.

Glastonbury organiser, Michael Eavis, said of the campaign: “We hope to see at least 100,000 new supporters sign up to the I Count campaign - and I'll be the first to put my name down."
