Sir Paul McCartney has said he believes he maybe a victim of phone hacking.
The former Beatle told journalists on the US leg of his world tour that he planned to speak to police when he returned to the UK.
It follows allegations by Sir Paul’s ex-wife Heather Mills that a senior journalist for the Mirror Group confessed to hacking into voicemail messages he had left her, reports BBC News.
"When I go back [to Britain] after this tour, I am going to talk to the police because apparently I have been hacked,” Sir Paul said.
"I don't know much about it because they won't tell anyone except the person themselves. So I will be talking to them about that.”
He added: "I do think it's horrendous violation of privacy. I do think it has been going on for a long time and I do think more people than we know about it.
"But I think I should just listen and hear what the facts are before I comment."
Trinity Mirror - part of the Mirror Group - has insisted that all its journalists work within the law.
