Arnold Schwarzenegger's comeback film, Last Stand, has been given a release date of January 18, 2013.
The movie will be released to coincide with the Martin Luther King holiday weekend.
Schwarzenegger will play a dsigraced Los Angeles police officer whose move to a small town leads to him fighting a drug lord and his biker gang accomplaces.
An executive for Lionsgate told Deadline: "It's an old-fashioned Western specifically designed for a 63-year-old broken-down guy with a moral decision - whether Arnold decides to stand up for his town. We always needed an iconic figure for it."
Schwarzenegger announced his intention to return to acting following the end of his term as Governor of California.
However, revelations of an illicit affair with his family's housekeeper - which produced an illegitimate son - and subsequent divorce from wife Maria Shriver, forced him to temporarily put his plans on hold.
