Eminem has paid tribute to Gil Scott-Heron, who died at the weekend.
The American musician and poet passed away at a hospital in New York. He was 62.
In a message on Twitter, Eminem said: “RIP Gil Scott-Heron. He influenced all of hip-hop.”
Radiohead’s Thom Yorke also posted a playlist on the band’s website, which shared the same title and included some of Scott-Heron’s work.
A cause of death has yet to be released, but a friend said the musician had fallen ill after returning home from a trip to Europe.
Scott-Heron was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1949 but spent much of his early childhood in Jackson, Tennessee.
