Adele's '21' Equals Madonna's Album Chart Record

Adele has equaled Madonna's album chart record with new album '21'.

The London singer's '21' spent a ninth consecutive week at number one which is the longest for any female solo artist.

'21' has now matched Madonna's 'The Immaculate Collection', which held the title for nine weeks at number one in 1990.

In this weeks UK chart The Strokes' 'Angles' was a new entry at number three, with Jessie J's debut 'Who You Are' at number four.

Meanwhile, Adele's single ' 'Somebody Like You' climbed back to number one on the UK chart after slipping to number two last week.
