Carl Barat has revealed that work has been completed on his debut solo album.
The singer and guitarist said the record was very “different” from his previous releases with former bands The Libertines and Dirty Pretty Things.
"It's a bit different. It's a bit older - like myself really,” Barat said.
"It's kind of naked, kind of stripped down. It's more piano based.
"It's definitely different from The Libertines. It's different from anything I've done before. It's more me."
The singer has yet to confirm release plans or details of any live shows in support of the untitled album.
In an interview with BBC Newsbeat, Barat also touched on reports that he and Pete Doherty were set reignite The Libertines.
"I see them all regularly,” he replied, when asked about the possibility of a reunion next year.
The singer is currently trying his hand at acting alongside Sadie Frost in the London production, Fool For Love.
