Coldplay turned down an opportunity to appear on the hit US TV show Glee, it's been reported.
Details of the band's proposed cameo were revealed by creator Ryan Murphy.
In an interview with The Sun, Murphy also confirmed that Lady Gaga and Madonna were set to appear on the programme.
"We're doing an episode that's a tribute to theatricality,” he said. “We reached out to Lady Gaga and she said, 'Yes, I'd love to be a part of it'."
Murphy added that Madonna had “cooperated in every way possible” with the show's forthcoming dedication to the Queen of Pop.
Launched at the end of 2009, Glee was recently named Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes.
