Coldplay have a number of “killer” songs for this fifth album, it has emerged.
The group have been working on the follow-up to 2008’s ‘Viva La Vida’ in Budapest with producers Brian Eno and Markus Dravs.
In a blogpost on Coldplay.com, their regular blogger Roadie #42 said the tracks weren’t completed, but that the band were excited about their new material.
“The songs haven't assumed their final beautiful form yet, but they're a very long way from their skin and bones phase,” Roadie #42 said.
“What's impossible not to conclude though, is that they have some absolutely killer tunes.”
Coldplay’s blogger has previously revealed that the band are working on “millions” of song ideas.
The band are currently enjoying a two week break from the studio before resuming work on the album.
It is not yet clear whether the album, which is yet to be titled, will arrive before the end of 2010.
