Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos has denied reports that he plans to write a musical.
The singer told Australian radio station Triple J recently that he had “an amazing idea” for a production, sparking speculation that he was set to write a script.
However, in a post on Twitter, Kapranos insisted that he wasn't “writing a bloody musical” and that it was just one of a number of unrealised ideas.
“I was talking about an idea I had for one. Doesn't mean I'm going to write it," he wrote.
The singer added: “I had an idea for a sit-com in a Russian abattoir. I'm not writing that either. Or the Sci-Fi movie script Time Bin.
“But In Through The Outbox a rom-com about business rivals falling in love over internet, while unaware of their real identities is a hit.”
As Gigwise reported last week, Franz Ferdinand are among the bands on the soundtrack to Tim Burton's new movie Alice In Wonderland.
The score, released on Monday (March 8), also features songs by All American Rejects and Wolfmother.
