US rapper Kanye West has revealed that he will release another new album next June, in addition to '808s & Heartbreak', which is out next month.
The rapper unveiled his plans during a media listening party for '808s & Heartbreak' in Los Angeles on Tuesday (October 14th).
West, who sat with 700 guests as they were played songs from the record, told the audience that he wasn't concerned about how critics might judge his material.
“These are pieces of real life that I’m putting out for people to judge. It’s from my heart. I don’t give a fuck if someone rates it ‘hot’ or ‘not.’ I’m here to bring positivity that cannot be judged,” he said.
“It’s like judging a grandmother’s love, and someone says ‘Your grandmother gets two and a half mics.’ Or, ‘You grandmother didn’t sell a million the first week.’”
The rapper also revealed that the album's final song, 'Cold As Winter', was dedicated to his mother, Donda, who died last year following complications which arose during cosmetic surgery. She was 58.
“The irony for me, someone who has talked about so many labels — Louis Vuitton this, Benz that, this girl look good, I’m not going out with you if you don’t look good — the irony, for me to lose the most important person to Hollywood,” he said.
“And now it’s time to deliver ideas in the most naked form possible.”
'808s & Heartbreak' is released on November 25th.
