Madonna continued her promotional tour for her latest album ‘Hard Candy’ last night (May 10) with a headline performance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend.
Playing six songs in total, around 15,000 people witnessed the set which was mainly made up of songs from her latest release.
The set began with ‘Candy Shop’ before moving on to ‘Miles Away’, the single ‘4 Minutes’ and an electric guitar heavy ‘Hang Up’.
The set was closed with a stripped back rendition of ‘Music’.
Speaking about the set, Madonna told Radio 1: “Obviously, I want to do new stuff because I’m very excited about it.
"I feel that’s what people come to hear but I also want to do a few of my oldies but goodies.
"I chose Hung Up because that was the biggest hit from my last record and I chose Music because it’s a crowd pleaser, it’s anthemic and it brings people together.”
Earlier in the day the crowds at Mote Park in Maidstone were treated to performances from Foals, The Futureheads, Editors, We Are Scientists and Vampire Weekend.
