You might not have known that before the world-conquering smash hit that is ‘Happy’, Pharrell had another song of the same name with his band N*E*R*D*. And you almost definitely didn't know that the song was originally written for Scott Weiland, before Pharrell decided to keep it for himself. Listen to it below.

The Stone Temple Pilots frontman worked with Pharrell for his second solo album, Happy In Galoshes, the title of which referred to the song the pair produced together.

Eventually though, as Consequence Of Sound reports, Pharrell decided to record the song himself for his new N*E*R*D* album, and Weiland was forced to shelve his version.

Now though, Weiland’s version of ‘Happy’ has surfaced online, in the comments section of his PledgeMusic campaign. Listen to it here.

Weiland’s new album, Blaster, is due for release later this year.
