BRIT Awards host James Corden has claimed that there hasn't been a more important band than Blur.
The band will receive the Outstanding Contribution To Music Award at this year's Brit Awards
Speaking at the BRIT Awards nominations last night (January 12), Corden told The Sun: "Damon is a shining light in British culture so I always get slightly starstruck. It will be an honour to be in the same room as him."
He added: "Blur winning their 'Outstanding Contribution' award will be special. There hasn't been a more important band."
The band will collect the gong during the ceremony at the O2 Arena on February 21.
Speaking about the award, Damon Albarn has said "recognition for all the work and all the heartache that has gone into this band."
Meanwhile, Adele, Rihanna and Coldplay are set to perform at the BRIT Awards next month.
