Nicki Minaj has admitted that she does not let the younger members of her family listen to un-edited versions of her music, saying the language is too extreme for kids.
Minaj, who has some of the dirtiest lyrics in music twinned with one of the youngest fan bases, admits that this can be a problem at times during a new interview with The Guardian, published today (April 28).
"I don't want children cursing. I'm very strict on my nieces and my little brother. They have to listen to clean versions of music," she says.
However, Nicki goes on to ask why it is her, as a female artist, who is often asked to cut out her language when her peers never face the same problem.
"Why do people ask me to lose swear words? Do people ask Eminem to lose swear words? Do they ask Lil Wayne to lose swear words? Nobody stops them and says 'Would you stop swearing... for the children, please?'"
