Jay-Z has responded to Lil' Wayne after the rapper criticised him in a song on his new album.
Lil' Wayne mocked Jay-Z on the song 'It's Good' after apparently being provoked by a track Jay-Z had released with Kanye West.
In the song, Lil' Wayne threatens to kidnap Jay-Z's wife Beyonce: "Talkin' 'bout baby money, I got your baby money / Kidnap your bitch, Get that 'how much you love your lady?' money."
Speaking to MTV News, Jay-Z played down the feud and said clashes between rappers were part of hip-hop.
"That's sport, that's rap music," he said. "Nothing is going to change but the participants. I don't even see why that's news."
Meanwhile, Jay-Z and his mother Gloria Carter staged a special fundraising carnival for their organisation, The Shawn Carter Foundation, in New York last week.
