The BET Awards have issued an apology after Rihanna was mistakenly given an award intended for her former boyfriend Chris Brown.
The singer was announced as the Viewers' Choice winner at the ceremony last weekend for her Drake-featuring song 'What's My Name?'.
But the award was due to be awarded to Rihanna's ex Brown, who was found guilty of beating her up in 2009.
BET president Stephen Hill said: "That BET Awards Viewer's Choice mix-up was due to human error. And I was the human that made that error. I apologize to ALL affected."
Brown was the bigger winner at the ceremony in Los Angeles, taking home five prizes. Other winners included Jennifer Hudson, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, and Willow Smith and Jaden Smith.
