Cheryl Cole has been tipped to return as a judge on the UK edition of The X Factor after being sacked from the US version.
The Girls Aloud star gave up the role to take up the American offer earlier this month, but producers have today (May 26) dropped the singer.
Bookies William Hill said Cole was now Even money to return to the UK judging panel this year.
Spokesman Joe Crilly said: “Our Yankee cousins may have turned their noses up at Cheryl but she is a National Treasure and we are sure she would be welcomed back with open arms, should she wish to return.”
Cole was apparently sacked over fears the American public could not understand her strong Northern accent.
