X Factor contestant Wagner, who covered Radiohead on last weekend’s programme, has been tipped to top the UK singles chart.
Bookmakers William Hill are offering odds of 7/2 that the 54-year-old Brazilian will score a number one before the end of 2011.
“Jedward were last year’s comedy act and they managed to reach number two,” spokesman Joe Crilly said.
“The odds suggest that Wagner has a good chance of going one better.”
The bookmaker has also laid down odds of 1000/1 that Wagner will strike up an unlikely relationship with MP Anne Widdecombe.
Wagner was eliminated from the TV talent contest on Sunday (November 28) following a rendition of Radiohead's 'Creep'. Katie Waisel was also sent home.
