System Of A Down are set to headline next year’s Download festival, it’s been announced.
The group will reform to top the bill at the event, which runs from June 10-13 at Donington Park.
The heavily rumoured performance will mark the band’s return following a five-year hiatus, and is one of a series of planned live gigs.
“We are excited to announce that System will be playing some dates together in 2011,” the band said.
We also want to thank you for your loyalty and support, not only to System Of A Down, but to all of our solo efforts as well. We have no master plan of sorts – we are playing these shows simply because we want to play together again as a band and for you, our amazing fans.”
This year's Download festival featured headline performances from Rage Against The Machine, Aerosmith and AC/DC.
A limited number of tickets Download go on sale on Friday (December 3) at 9am. For more details and to buy Download Festival tickets, check out Gigwise Gig Tickets.
