Kanye West has revealed that he has considered killing himself, but that he was now a changed man.
The rapper made the comment at the screening of his new movie, Runaway, in Los Angeles on Monday (October 18).
West told reporters "there were times that I contemplated suicide”, but added: "I will not give up on life again."
The hip-hop star also spoke candidly about his battle to overcome his outburst involving Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
He said he had endured a “long, hard year”, but had now hit a “creative sweet spot”, reports the Associated Press.
West also said he had lost four parental figures in the last three years, including his mother Donda, who died in 2007.
"Everything has been taken away from me," he said. "I'm so not ... scared. I so don't care."
Directed by Hype Williams, Runaway tells the story of West's new relationship with a girl, who is a phoenix who has fallen to earth. It will debut on MTV this weekend.
Meanwhile, the rapper is due to release his fifth studio album 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' on November 22.
