More Arcade Fire
Arcade Fire will play two special shows in North Carolina next month in support of Democratic hopeful Barack Obama.
The Change Rocks concerts, in Greensboro on May 1st and Carrboro on May 2nd, will also feature performances from Superchunk.
The events have been organised by the campaign to encourage One-Stop Early Voting at college campuses and other locations across the state.
One-Stop Early Voting is a new system that enables first time voters to register and cast their vote on the same day.
"This is a defining moment for this country," said Win Butler, frontman of Arcade Fire.
"We want to encourage people to get up, get out, and go vote."
Arcade Fire are amongst a number of high profile supporters of Obama, who is battling Hillary Clinton to become the Democratic party’s election candidate.
In the latest round of voting, which took place in Pennsylvania yesterday, Clinton edged back into the contest thanks to key wins across the state.
