A new Beatles exhibition is coming to the UK titled The Beatles! Backstage and Behind the Scenes.
The showcase documents a whirlwind time in the Fab Four’s career back in 1964 when they made their first ever North American appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show – a programme that was watched by 73million people.
The images are taken from the archive of CBS Television and ‘Life’ photographer Bill Eppridge – a selection of which can be seen in our gallery below.
The exhibition runs at the The Beatles Story Museum in Liverpool from this Friday (April 4) until August 15. Previously the exhibition was held in Washington where it was seen by 3million people.
Jerry Goldman, Managing Director of the Beatles Story, said “The images in this award-winning exhibition represent the very best of sixties photojournalism and show the Beatles at a pivotal moment in their career. We are hugely excited to welcome this exclusive and award winning exhibition to the Beatles Story for its UK premier.”
Thanks to The Beatles Story, here’s a selection of the photos on display:
