Paul Weller has been installed as the favourite to win this year's Mercury Prize.
The former Jam singer's album 'Wake Up The Nation' is one of twelve albums nominated for the award, which will be handed out tomorrow (September 7).
Bookmakers William Hill slashed Weller's odds from 20/1 to 1/10 following a run of bets over the weekend.
Spokesman Rupert Adams said: “We have a long history with the Mercury Prize, where the judging panel is beyond reproach.
“We also know that the winner is not decided until Tuesday night, therefore we feel that the gamble is based on a sentimental belief that Paul was robbed back in 1994 and the judging panel will attempt to right that wrong this year.”
