Katy Perry has topped the UK album chart for the first time, according to the Official Charts Company.
The singer’s second album ‘Teenage Dream’ went straight in at number one on Sunday (September 5).
The title track from the record, which is the follow-up to 2008’s ‘One For The Boys’, also debuted a number two on the singles chart.
Elsewhere on the album countdown, Biffy Clyro’s ‘Only Revolutions’ climbed to number three from number twenty-seven last week.
It follows the band’s acclaimed performance at last month’s Reading and Leeds festivals.
Pretty Reckless’s debut album ‘Light Me Up’ went straight in at number six. The band features Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen.
Meanwhile, on the singles chart, Olly Murs held onto the top spot for a second week with ‘Please Don’t Let Me Go’.
"I'm absolutely over the moon that my debut single has reached number one,” the former X Factor star said. “Especially since I was up against such stiff competition.”
Manchester duo Pepper & Piano went straight in at number seven with ‘You Took My Heart’.
