Travie McCoy has denied reports that a song from his new album details his former relationship with Katy Perry.
It had been claimed that 'Don't Pretend' - which includes the line “Little miss teary eyes, you have no reason to lie to me” - was about Perry.
But in an interview with BBC Newsbeat, McCoy said he would “never throw darts” at his former girlfriend and her fiancée Russell Brand.
"I could see why and how they think what it is about, but I've been in situations over the past two years,” he said.
"I would never throw darts at Katy or Russell - I wish them the best."
McCoy, who fronts Gym Class Heroes, is currently promoting new album 'Lazarus', which was released earlier this month.
