Justin Bieber will not embark on a tour of North Korea after it emerged a poll asking where the singer should perform next was a fake.
The website asked users to vote for Bieber's next tour destination, with the communist nation receiving more than 650,000 votes.
However, a spokesperson for Universal Music old the BBC the website was a “hoax”.
People were initially directed to the website by imageboard website 4chan. The vote then turned viral after people began sharing the link on Twitter.
4chan users have developed a reputation for staging stunts inspired by the Canadian singer.
Last week, they rallied users to make "Justin Bieber Syphilis" appear on Google's Hot Searches list.
And in another stunt at the weekend, visitors to Bieber's YouTube page were re-directed to pornographic websites.
