Lily Allen has revealed that her recent Brit award triumph meant “absolutely nothing”.
The singer said she felt underwhelmed collecting the prize for Best Female Solo Artist at the ceremony in February.
"I got a Brit Award recently,” Allen told New magazine.
“And that was something four years ago that I would have died for. But when I finally got that award it meant absolutely nothing to me.
"Because I now know that the Brit Awards is a TV show. Record company executives make deals with a TV channel and the producers about who wins what award in exchange for performance time.
“So it's just become a non-award, like 'Thank you for this'."
Meanwhile, Lily Allen is set to star in her own reality TV, which will follow her as she launches a new clothing range.
The singer, who is taking a break from music, is launching Lucy in Disguise with her half-sister Sarah Owen.
