A woman has been jailed for eight months for stalking a Freddie Mercury lookalike.
Marie Lewis, 27, sent tarantula’s skin and made abusive phone calls to William Westmoreland, whose stage name is Billy West.
A court heard that Lewis, from Ebbw Vale, South Wales, became jealous of Westmoreland after watching him perform with the group Under Pressure.
Over a three-year period, the 27-year-old made numerous attempts to contact the singer, reports The Sun.
Lewis also accused Westmoreland of being unfaithful to his wife, and attempted to assault him at gig in Swansea in October 2008.
She admitted three charges of harassment and was also given a restraining order during an appearance in court yesterday (April 15).
Lewis’s defence said she had acknowledged that her behaviour was “cruel, relentless, vile”.
