The Gaslight Anthem have compared their new album to a soul version of The Clash's 'London Calling'.
The US group are due to release 'American Slang' – the follow-up to 2008's 'The 59' Sound' – on June 14.
In an interview with XFM, singer Brian Fallon said the new record was “as if 'London Calling' was not reggae and was soul music instead. And us. And from the United States."
He added that the purpose of 'American Slang' was “to make the boys cry and the girls dance”.
Meanwhile, The Gaslight Anthem are set to embark on a UK tour in June, as well as perform at the Hard Rock Calling festival in London.
