Iggy Pop has revealed that The Stooges will return in 2010 with original guitarist James Williamson.
The guitarist, who last performed with the band nearly 30 years ago, replaces the late Ron Asheton.
"We're bringing The Stooges back next year.,” Pop told BBC 6 Music.
“They've been rehearsing more without me than with me because I've been doing other things this year.”
"But we have been rehearsing all together more recently and they kept going without me again last week.”
Pop said the band would play a one off show in Brazil in the coming weeks before embarking on a full tour next year.
Meanwhile, the singer also paid tribute to Asheton, who died in January, saying that his “presence” still lived on within the band.
